Just a Little Bit About Me:

I'm Ashley. Welcome to my photography website. My photography is called Vital Ocean Photography for a couple of reasons. One, Marine life is a huge part of my world and without them I feel lost. The sound of an Orca exhaling as it surfaces, the sight of a Humpback whale tossing it's fluke in the air or the smell of Steller Sea Lions hanging out on a rocky outcropping are all things that make me incredibly happy.  Two, though I also take photos of other animals and other things, every animal on the planet relies on the ocean for every second breath we take. If that doesn't make the oceans Vital to everything, I don't know what does. Enjoy!

I work as a Marine Naturalist for a whale watching company in the Pacific North West. I am very lucky to have grown up in one of the staggeringly beautiful places in this world. Vancouver, BC, Canada! This is a place filled with rugged coastlines and incredible diversity in people and animals. There truly is no shortage of subjects to photograph.
